Mischief is still dealing with her skin problems. So far it has stumped 4 vets. She had biopsies done a couple weeks ago and even they did not clearly state what is wrong with her. One of my vets consulted a dermatologist and it was suggested that it could be Wells Syndrome.
My vet said that Wells Syndrome is also linked with cancer so she recommended having an ultrasound done. We did it this past weekend. She does have some thickening of her intestines, but the doctor said that could also be caused by IBS, which is something she has been taking meds for the past couple of years. Her liver and spleen are also slightly enlarged. The vet who did the ultrasound is an oncologist and said it is very rare that cats with Wells Syndrome also have cancer. He did recommend eventually having biopsies done for the liver & spleen, but said they also could be enlarged due to the IBS.
He recommended that I should have Mischief looked at by their dermatologist. She has an appointment tomorrow. Hopefully they can figure out what is going on with her. The bumps do not seem to bother her, she it not scratching or biting them. But they are spreading all over her body. Plus she has lost a little weight.
Keep fingers and paws crossed that I finally find out what is wrong with her and hopefully it is treatable. Preferably not expensive either. I have already spent almost $2500 in the past couple of months between Mischief and Tiger. My wallet needs a break.
