Hey guys,

I could really use some fresh eyes before I drive myself crazy.

I'm starting to see a pattern with her that I just don't know how to break, She was bouncing all over the place at least that has stopped for the most part, but now on .5u she has one great day, into the blues and sometimes even the greens, then by pmps, she sky-rockets back up. The next day she runs in the yellows or pinks, then back down the next. I hate to raise her dose for fear that it will be one of her good days and she will drop too low, but then again I don't want her to continue going high on the bad days either.

I have been testing for ketones and she has either been none or a very slight trace, the trace is usually on the days that she wants to run flat yellow. So what am I missing? She has all 5 ps in place, she seems happy and purring up a storm, loves to cuddle with us in bed at night etc.

HELP!

Mel, as Sienne once said to me "they can bounce off of any number". Musette's not used to greens or blues yet. With Jesse's bounces, I found the duration of the bounce to be shorter and shorter as he got more comfortable with the numbers.

Take a look at Jesse's spreadsheet prior to 6/8/11 - icky.
But you can see a trend; first the reds went away, then the pinks went away and now the yellows have gone away.

May I suggest some patience pants :-D

(The preceding was only my humble opinion :-D )

Thanks Carolyn,

Yeah Patience isn't my strongest feature...lol. I keep trying to tell myself that she just needs to get use to getting insulin on a regular basis and that her body has no clue what to do with those lower numbers and thinks it is far lower than it really is, or in other words her body doesn't think normal is normal, it hits those 100s or double digits and freaks that she is going too low.

I keep looking back on her spreadsheet when she was getting dose increases and it looks like .75 was too much for her, so maybe her liver is just a slow learner. :-D
And Maxwell has me way spoiled, he was just too easy to break, that somedays if I hadn't seen his original bloodwork I would swear he never was diabetic...Musette is a whole diferent story, she is going to tech me to dance..lol

I will add patience also ...... remember she is an ex-DKA kitty and the fact that she might go OTJ is over-whelming! I am jealous! so be thankful you have her and let it flow ..... or I'll trade you for Payne! now that's a dance you don't want to dance!!!!

To go with the sweater?

She's all over the page, but it's only been a couple of weeks. Maybe more time to adjust, now that she's home with a passel of family to get used to. I was ready to send Cedric to you last night when he scared the crap out of me. He usually is waiting for me by the garage door when I get home, but he wasn't and he didn't come when I called. not downstairs, so I ran upstairs frantically looking for him. he was in my BR laying in a sun patch with the look: Are u Lookin fur me? :-x i told him if he scares me again I am sending him to Miz Mel and she has bigger holes in her ears so take that! (he loves to nuzzle ears, but doesn't like earnings, although i don't think that is exactly what you have lol).

edit to ask: how many times per day does she get fed?

roflmao,

Well I have earrings...just really big ones!

Maxwell love to nibble on earlobes too and gets a really confused look on his face when he runs into one of my earrings..lol
