Okay Ladies I need you stories and pictures of your journey with your sugarcats. There is a newbie on Health that I will be linking to this thread that is losing hope for her kitty. She's been struggling for 8 months while using N.

I'm trying to get her hooked up with a dear friend of mine whose a human diabetic and a longtime member of this board that has some extra Lantus so she can at least try with a decent insulin.

But she's just so tired and frustrated that she's thinking of giving up and putting her girl to sleep. So let's show her there is light at the end of the tunnel. If we can give her enough hope to try just a little longer I've talked her into joining our little family over here.

I already know you all are the bestest. So come on let's give Kris and her kitty Callie a reason to fight on and see Diabetes isn't a death sentence !!

i wish i had some pics! ill see if i can find her on health?? i know how stressful and frustrating things get.

My pleasure!! I'm lining her up with some Lantus hopefully through Maxwell's former foster mom if she contacts her.

I can tell from her posts and the few pms we've exchanged she tired and beaten down. She's a single mom and a teacher. The N isn't helping the situation either because Callie is miserable on its roller coaster ride. Lord we all can so relate to those days of living with an unregulated diabetic cat. The screams for food, the worry, the self doubt if we're just prolonging the decision to let go. Etc.

She just needs a life line to grab onto and see there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Not only will she get her girl back but a better relationship with her because of the bond between us and our surgars. At least that's my read

Hi just jumping in here when Trey was first Dx my DH was doing the testing and I was a basket case ....hate needles . He was always tell Trey how sorry he was he had to do this and was stressed himself..lucky for me and Trey he got called away for a few days. Well cried and pulled up my big girl panties ..took lots of deep breaths and never say you are sorry. They feel your mood...you are stressed and sorry then they feel it is wrong and they don`t want it done. You have to be very calm and surround yourself with beautiful white peaceful light. wrap kitty in a towel and say we are going to help you feel better will only be a smill pick...do it let her go treat done!!!!! 1st time I tried took 5-6 pokes most never touch the ear was so scared did the above and sap done Trey never felt a thing...shortly after that he became my cat. even today he got up on the table laid on his towel and waited for me...I just throw his towel over his shoulder a comfort thing I guess. Its all about your mood...if you can remain calm and then so will try it what do you have to lose....Hugs and peaceful white light and healing green light surround all you furry one and peeps. Hugss Kath

Poor mama. N is terrible without TID dosing and constant testing. I tried it with Pumpkin for a while. Lantus is a trillion times better than N. I almost euthanized Pumpkin twice and I'm so glad I didn't.
