NEED DOSING ADVICE PLEASE!!! On a time crunch!!

Hello!
My Candi cat has been not wanting to eat and has vomited once. We've come to the conclusion that it's likely due to antibiotics shes on, clavamox drops which she has been on since 11/9. She has been without vetsulin +44 with the last bg reading +42.5 @ 203. Her regular schedule dose would be at +47.5. I will test before and try to feed before I shoot. I just need to know what dose I should give? The SS and regular dose is in the signature. I will be updating periodically with numbers as well as the SS.

I found you! I see on the facebook that you gave .5 of a unit, and I think that is fine. I know Candi isn't eating well, and you need to get something for her antibiotic nausea. She was over 200 and that .5 of a dose should be low enough not to get you into trouble.

I would test again in about 3 hours post shot. Vetsulin hits hard and fast, so a BGL check at +3 will tell you how she's doing.

You can take the 911 off your post now. I'm sorry you didn't get a response faster. You can always stall without feeding while you wait for help. Also, things get lost in the shuffle. If needed, reply to your own post so it gets bumped back up to the top where people will see it.

I couldn't get her to eat...ughh I'll take it off it's done anyway.

We can't predict what will happen with any cat on any dose. We've seen cats get 20 units instead of 2 that did absolutely fine. The point is that you don't have to freak out so much. As long as you can test, you can almost always prevent a hypoglycemic crisis.

Breathe....deep breaths, in..out...in...out. It's going to be OK
