What happened with Hocks? I can no longer buy the BD syringes for Babee without a RX. Is there any other place i can buy these online without a RX?

I don't want to go back to the evil vet....he doesn't support the smaller needles.

Thanks

I've bought insulin syringes from http://www.americandiabeteswholesale.com No prescription needed

FDMB doesn't get a commission from Hocks.com anymore. You can still buy stuff from Hocks.com, though.

I tried ordering from Hocks and they now require an RX.

I've tried to order from both www.americandiabeteswholesale.com and the new www.hocks.com just this week and both companies told me they would not ship insulin syringes to Illinois without an Rx. It seems to depend on the laws governing your state whether or not they will ship syringes without an Rx. The old Hocks shipped them to me no questions asked and this was in March.

Just found this at http://www.ehow.com/about_5349784_do-need-prescription-insulin-syringes.html

Ordering Insulin Syringes Online
Online ordering of insulin syringes is dependent on the state laws covering the type of insulin syringe. Most online ordering sites will provide information regarding this requirement and how to provide the prescription order from your doctor. This ensures that the order meets the state requirements and that you order the proper syringe for the type and dosage of insulin.

Not sure how accurate that info is because another part of the article says
If U-40 insulin is required, a syringe is available, though it is not sold in the United States
You can buy U40 insulin syringes from a vet or vet pharmacy in the US.

I haven't needed to buy insulin syringes for well over a year now but when I did buy them, no prescription was required at either online pharmacy. I live in a state where a prescription is required if you buy insulin syringes in-person at a store pharmacy.

EDIT:

Here's info about buying insulin syringes from AmericanDiabetesWholesale.com: http://www.americandiabeteswholesale.com/physician-order-syringes.aspx

I ordered 4 boxes of syringes from Hocks just the first week of May without a scrip. I am in Illinois, so their enacting the requirement must be very new, although the law has always required a scrip in IL. I'm sorry that FDMD no longer gets a kickback from Hocks, but I could not find another supplier for GNP syringes with half unit markings. The americandiabeteswholesale site only had one brand with half unit markings.
