Hello,
Next Saturday Craig (DH) and I will be transporting Musette from the airport to Mel (MommaofMuse) in Nebraska. By the time we get Musette out the airport, it will probably be 2:00 pm ish and it's close to a 3 hour drive to the rendevous location. So, I'm estimating that we'll be 4 hours late in giving Klinger his shot....
I thought about bringing him with us, but he doesn't travel well and isn't too fond of other kitties. I'm afraid he'd try to fight her through the carrier. She doesn't need that stress after flying all morning. It wouldn't be the best solution.

So, do I try and move his shot back by as many hours as I can between now and then or leave the shot time alone and give him a token dose when we get home that night? That's what I'm leaning towards just because I'll have to then turn around and move his shot time back up. He'd probably be off schedule for two weeks...too much cause for error.

Thoughts???
Thanks,
Marcy & Klinger

In this kind of situation, I vote for just missing the shot and giving the token dose (maybe half dose?) when you get home. That way he gets his regular shots at their regular times until the day in question and you can get right back on track the next day. That is more or less what I do when I have to be out of town.

That's so nice of you to help out with the transport!

Thanks for responding, Vicky! I think that makes the most sense too.

I'm excited to be apart of getting Musette to her furever home and I get to meet a fellow board member! :-D

Yeah, skipping is the way to go. It will take a few days to get the numbers back on track so just be prepared for that.

I have to thank you also for helping in the transport. I am on the transport list, but there are never any transports in my area.

Jeddie was transported to me across MI. I was actually on the way to the same place I am going next week so two people drove him from the Detroit area to west of Grand Rapids and I swung over from my route up along the west side of the state to get him. The second person had to "hold" him at her house an hour to wait for me to get that far and she was able to test him, which was key in my knowing he probably didn't need insulin. I tried testing him and got bit for my troubles the first time. I don't know how she did it. He is such a different cat now. I can't imagine not having him in my life, sleeping with his feet on my back every night. :-D
