Hi everyone,

My cat gets his half unit Lantus insulin injections at 7:30 every AM and PM and I am extremely strict with these times.

Tonight for the first time due to circumstances I didn't get home until 8pm so I feed him (and of course he ate the whole lot) but I did his injection just after 8pm.

What time do I do his injection in the morning since tonight it was just over half an hour late. I'm scared of the overlap time.

Thank you

Generally the rule for changing Lantus shot times is to change by 15 minutes per shot for an overall change of no more that 30 minutes per day. I wouldn't worry too much though. Maybe just move the a.m. shot to 7:45 am and then your p.m. shot will be back at the normal time of 7:30 pm. Your kitty should be just fine. It's best to stick to the schedule, but things do happen and it's not a huge deal.

Thank you both so much. I've done his last 2 injections 15 minutes earlier and he is now back to his usual injection time and so far no signs of anything unusual.
