After waiting weeks I have prescription for ProZinc. Searched for a day to find pharmacy that has it in store but they do not carry U-40 syringes. Anyone near sacramento or folsom have some I could get until order is received? My cat is very sick and needs her insulin. Hope this isnt against rules but heres my # if someone can help 916-370-6794. God Bless

I'm really surprised your vet did not have any at all that they could sell you. Oh, well. Sorry.

Welcome! You can use u100 syringes but have to use a conversion chart. There's one in the stickies somewhere, but I have no idea where. Maybe repost asking about that (changing the title to something like...Can't find u40 syringes, please help with conversion!) Also, using the "?" Or putting the word "question" in the title helps draw more eyes. You can also post in the prozinc forum, but definitely post on this forum as well.

In the meantime, you can set up your signature ( http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/editing-your-signature-profile-and-preferences.130340/)

and start your spreadsheet (http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/fdmb-spreadsheet-instructions.130337/)

so everything is good to go!

And here's the starter sticky on Prozinc:

Good luck! Read lots of yellow stickies and ask lots of questions.... There's a learning curve, but many experienced people wanting to help you help your sugar kitty!

With love, Nikki

Just wanted to add, please ask for help with using the conversion chart in the beginning! Syringes look different, and there is a very real risk of overdosing your kitty if a mistake is made... And even very experienced members have inadvertently caused hypos. Hypos *can* kill.

Here is a link to the emergency tool kit info:

Do you have a glucometer and strips, and plan on home testing?
