Hey all,
I've been on a quest to cut as much carbohydrate out of sugar cat Stewart's life as possible. I won't tell you the big saga of rejected food, trying to get to down to no carbs and limited fish. Just cut to the chase and say I ended up feeding him a lot of the Instinct venison and duck. But the chart numbers and what I know about food meant the ingredients didn't add up. confused_cat So I called this morning. It turns out the chart numbers are wrong in some cases. Venison is not 0% it is 2.3 % carbohydrates, the Duck is actually 2.5% in fact most of their Instinct canned is in the mid 2% range, and Chicken is not 3% but is the one variety that is below 2% even though that is a mere .1%. Rabbit was the highest I asked about and it was also slightly below 3%. From what their customer service rep said these numbers are pretty much the carbohydrate levels of their raw food as well. All of these numbers are below 5%, which is good. But just in case some of you are trying to be as tight as possible with the carbohydrate numbers I thought you all should know.
And kudos to the Nature's Variety people - their customer rep was great, had all the info at hand (in a book as I heard him flipping pages) and was very helpful. :thumbup
