I believe my sweet Snickers may have feline hyperesthesia and I am using rescue remedy for her nervousness and stress but would like to know if there is something out there for her agitated nerve endings. I have read that many Drs. prescribe pain meds to help but I would rather stick to something natualnatural, at least for now.

Oh a Suzi, I'm so sorry. I don't know about natural pain meds but hopefully someone will chime in soon. Hugs.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

So sorry she is troubled with hyperesthesia. In addition to rescue remedy have you tried the Feliaway Spray to use where she sleeps and hangs out. That will also evoke a more relaxed state for her. Hope she's all better soon.

I would love to get the feliway but there is no way I can afford it at the moment. Someday....hopefully, but I need to get the aerokat asthma mask for her, too.

It is so frustrating when finances are a consideration while we are treating our sugar babies but unfortunately it is a reality for a lot of us. Hugs! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Feliway also comes in a spray you can spritz where needed, and it's a fair bit less expensive. Also some other, less pricey, sprays are around, I used one of them and it really did help, actually more than the Feliway diffuser I'm using now. Can't say I've seen any improvement using the diffuser, I'm kind of disappointed in it. :(

Merlin twitches every so often too. Sometimes when I am warming up the ear with my fingers (rubbing), he will twitch. I read somewhere, I think at Tanya's CKD website that Zobaline helps twitching. If twitching is severe, it could be CKD related and I think found in the last stage of CKD. Anyway, Merlin's twitching is very minimal as long as I give him Zobaline.

Her symptoms look like feline hyperesthesia, rolling skin syndrome. I am starting her on some fish oil and putting her back on b-12. She only twitches on her back, by her tail.

I am not sure on what the dosing would be- but you could try a homeopathic st johns wort (hypercarium)- dissolve a tablet or two in water and then give her a dropperful. I used it when Trouble was healing from his leg surgery along with a few other homeopathics and they seemed to work alot.. When I made them I dissolved them in a small dropper bottle- but again- Not sure on the dosing- maybe look online? St Johns is for nerves and nerve pain.

Oh my gosh, I just googled FH, how awful! So glad I saw this tho, as I have a kitty that I'm going to pay close attention to when I get home ( out of town at the moment) as she does this sometimes.
