Since the 17th of last month Nala has not needed any insulin.
I adopted Nala as an untreated diabetic in mid August of this year. The previous caretaker noted something was amiss when she lost 5 pounds. They did not want to treat her so they surrendered her to a shelter. She was still overweight when I adopted her so she was a good candidate for going into remission.
I first noted that she was going into remission when during evening treat time she was not around. I finally found her in a cat tube. When was making strange noises. When I got her out she was unsteady on her feet. I measured her BG and it was Lo (<20) I gave her honey and dry food and she recovered fine with the excepting that next morning's BG was very high.
