Nala is a cone head

It seems that Nala finally really caught her tail Thursday evening/early Friday morning. Ever since I adopter her about 11 months ago she would frequently try to catch her tail. Here is an example

Friday morning I noticed blood on her tail.

Now she has a cone and is not happy

Nala also started gabapentin to try to stop the self mutilation. Otherwise amputation of the tail is next.

Oh, my goodness. That is so pitiful. Any idea of why she does that? Is there a physical reason or is it mental? Poor girl.

Does the vet have any idea what is causing her to attack her tail? Hyperesthesia perhaps? Poor little girl!

Yes, the vet thinks it may be hyperesthesia . That is why the gabapentin.

The goo d think is that I trimmeded her mails. I have not been able to do that for 11 months.
