GA My Thomas is gone

My sweet, sweet guy is gone. I am undone.

I think he had a good life and he didn't suffer long. But he deserved more life and a better death.

While I am still propelled by shock more than grief...

At my vet's this afternoon as we were considering maybe some fluids and an x-ray as next steps, Thomas suddenly went into rapid, labored breathing. He was in evident pain as I drove to the hospital, and he may have lost consciousness by the time we got there. Massive amounts of blood in the abdomen. They weren't able to get him stabilized. Multiple arrests on the table. I'm going ahead with a necropsy.

I went into the ER and kissed his little head as they let him go.
 
(((Tom)))) I am so saddened for you to read this. Your Thomas was such a beautiful boy and it was always clear to me how much you love him. I am so sorry for your heartbreak and loss. I’m glad you were there with him when he crossed and he felt the love of the one he has always loved the most. I wish you peace and send my deepest condolences.

So sorry to hear the news that it was Thomas's time to leave you. I totally understand how you feel tonight. China left quickly and without any real notice too. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I haven't been on the Board much lately, so I didn't "know" Thomas, but it is very clear to me how much you loved him, and that's really all that matters. I am so sorry for your loss. Take some time and be kind to yourself. Life will be different, but remember that he will always be close - nestled safely in your heart. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Tom, I am so sorry that you lost Thos, it's clear to all of us that your guy was loved and couldn't have been luckier to have a wonderful caring bean.

I'm so incredibly sorry. Your love and devotion to Thomas was so clear in each of your posts. There are simply no words that will adequately reflect your grief. Those of us who have those very special kitties who have gained their wings feel that empty place in their heart along with you.

After Gabby crossed, I came across this quote. I hope it gives you as much comfort as it gave me. "Cats never completely leave you. They side step time, shrug off death - come at the call of memory their beauty undiminished, their touch as gentle, their love perpetual."
 
It is so very heartbreaking to read of another GA today...I'm so sorry for the pain you're experiencing. Please try to keep in your thoughts that Thomas is no longer in pain and is free of these earthly bonds. Fly free sweet Thomas - chase those butterflies in the meadow now - your work here is done. Oh my goodness Tom! I am so very it was Thomas' time to leave you. My heart is aching right now for the pain you are experiencing. I know how devastating it is when things go downhill so suddenly, but I hope you can take comfort in the fact that you were there for your boy and he knew how much you loved him. You were such a good bean to dear Thos and you gave him such a good life. I'm sending you hugs and vines of comfort, love, and peace during this difficult time. Oh Tom, I am so very sorry to read this about Thomas. Many hugs, hoping you will take care of yourself as you grieve. I wish there was a way to ease your heartache. You and Thomas were so very fortunate to have shared so many years together. Cherish those memories, Tom.:bighug::bighug:cat_wings>o
 
I am grateful for all these well wishes and kind thoughts. I wish I could give each of you my thanks.

I am touched that some of you, even in our short time here, got to know the two of us a bit. And all of you number among the few who understand sharing a true and constant love with our little companions. That is what makes the board so much more than a place where people come for support in managing a disease.

Fly free and live in our hearts forever! M'row is my first diabetic cat so maybe I'm mistaken, but I think we have a special closeness with our sugar babies. My heart cries for your sudden loss.
 
Very sorry to learn of your recent loss. It is a very sad time, but your memories will always remain with you. I may not have crossed paths with you on this site, but my heart goes out to you just the same. Please take care!
 
What a beautiful fur kid you had. He was so lucky to have you. I read his chart again, and it is obvious you were a life saver to Thomas - you gave him near perfect regulation. That made his last months as good as they could ever be. Still it is so hard to lose our sugar kittehs. Perhaps Thomas is lucky to have passed so quickly. We see so many lingering issues here. I'm glad you were with him at the end.

May his gentle spirit fly free and land softly at the Bridge. Thomas was loved.cat_wings>o
