Hello, Some of you will remember my Prudence from last year. She was diagnosed with FD in Feb 2010 and I was able to get her insulin free after three months of tight regulation. Prudence became very ill in July and passed away on the 29th. Prudence was the smartest and bravest creature I've ever met. She survived cancer after having her right leg amputated. She lived to be 15 years old. She will be deeply missed.

I'm very sorry for your loss.
What a beautiful tribute to your sweet kitty.
She looks very much like my civvie Monkey, even same facial expressions.

Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Of course I remember you both, and have been so happy that Pru had done so well last year. I didn't realize she was ill, I am so sorry.

Thank you all so much. Reading all the posts has made the heaviness in my heart much lighter. As much as I want to start catching up on everyone's situations... I am a bit overwhelmed. It's weird because this site was all I knew last year. First thing in the morning all throughout the day into the evening, so there wasn't really any catching up to do. Now, I am like... where do i even start ohmygod_smile

I will share this much and hope this can help someone out there. During my journey with Pru and trying to get her OTJ I must of bought every cat food out there switching things around to see what worked for us. I will tell you that feeding a combination of Walmart Special Kitty canned Turkey & Giblets with Friskies Special Diet Turkey & Giblets mixed with some water or Walmart Special Kitty canned Turkey & Giblets with Wellness Turkey at 3 times a day worked for us. If I fed the Friskies or Wellness just by itself... it was too much and kept Pru's numbers on the high end (100's). If I fed just Wellness or Friskies in one sitting - I would make sure I would feed just the Special kitty in the next feeding to balance everything out. FYI - For those of you that read this that are newbies... Please note that you do NEED to hometest while switching your furbaby's diet.

Thanks again so much for your comfort during my time with Pru's passing. Sending everyone good thoughts and great numbers!!!!
