My sweet boy, Hardey, is at the rainbow bridge

Six months ago today, we had an OTJ party for Hardey. This morning, we took him to the vet for his last appointment. His xrays last week showed extreem damage to his intestines from the lymphoma and it was time to let him go before he was in any more pain.

Rest in peace, my sweet boy. I will miss you more than you can imagine. He is now with his sister, Lainey, and her bossy self will show him the way.

The house is so empty. For the first time 25 years, I came home to a house without a cat in it. People are already asking when I will be getting my next cat. I am not ready, but hate the emptiness here.

I want to thank everyone for their help with Hardey. You were truely, lifesavers.

I'm so sorry. It is a great gift to release them from their pain but so very hard on us.

So sorry it was Hardey's time to leave you. You gave him the final gift we have to give, but it's never easy.

We are so very sorry to read about the passing of your beloved Hardey. Going OTJ is such an accomplishment and you both fought the good fight. We understand completely how empty your house and heart must feel right now. Hardey was so lucky to have such a devoted and loving bean.

Cancer is insidious and so cruel.
I'm sure that Hardey fought the good fight and now
it's time for him to stop fighting and play with all of our GA's at the bridge.


You'll know when you're heart opens wide enough to make room for another fur baby that needs you

I think the empty house is the hardest part of the loss. You made a hugely unselfish decision. While Hardey isn't physically present, he has clearly left his paw prints on your heart and has an indelible place in your memory. For those reasons, he will never be truly gone.

Mary Alice - I am so very sorry to read this. May there now be peace for your boy. I know too that he thanks you for your decision.

Fly free little one, and land softly at the Bridge. Mannie will be there too to greet you. Be sure to watch over your bean too, she misses you very much.
 
I am so sorry to hear it was Hardey's time to join all the other GAs at the bridge. Please know he is in very good company, and his love is shining down on you while he and his sister wait for you to join them one day. Our prayers and deepest condolences to you...
 
Mary Alice, I am so sorry to hear this. I didn't get a chance to know Hardey, but all LL kitties are special and this just tears me up. Sending comfort vines to you and your family during this sad time. Fly free, sweet Hardey and land softly at the Rainbow Bridge. Don't let your sister boss you around too much and don't forget to check in on your mamabean from time to time.
