Feed lite wet meal at shot
Feed full wet meal at +2/3
Feed full wet meal at +5/6 if possible for timing
Feed lite wet meal at +7/8 if possible for timing
Pull all food at +9/10 keeping in mind that low carb dry has been left form grazing.

Hi George,

May I know when is the 2nd shot? Is it at +12? They will be having their food togather with the 2nd shot & thereafter?

Just for your ref, this is how I am feeding my 21 (Rosy is diabetic among them)

Feed fullwet meal before shot
Feed lite wet meal at +2/3 if the preshot number is low
Feed full wet meal at +5/6
Feed lite wet meal at +7/8
Feed steamed chicken before PM shot
Feed lite meal at PM +5 for Rosy
SInce 4 of my cats are dry food junkies, I give each dry food after each meal if they refuse to have the wet meal.
No dry food is free fed.

Most of my cats are over weight I do beleive the above is "enough" for them.

Rosy was in very bad condition before I switched her to canned. In 3 wks time, I see a tremenous change in her. Since then all my cats followed the canned feeding.

Hi George,

This is pretty much how I feed Racci also. The only Dry food she gets though is as treats for testing and medicine taking. She is allowed to eat wet until I go to bed and my DH is usually awake within a few hours after that since I'm a night person and he's a morning person so I feel she doesn't need food left out. I make her an early breakfast and put it in the fridge and DH takes it out and feeds her and I give her another breakfast after her shot since she's decided that meals are to come when all meds are done. :smile Other than that, my schedule is like yours but I usually offer a snack of whatever meat DH had for dinner before I go to bed. She is also a dry food junkie and it took forever to change her to wet food so I don't want to encourage that again.

George:

We would like to help you but we need you to please do a couple things:

1. get a SS going for your cats; it's impossible for us to give you suggestions about food or doses or if the lantus is working if we can't see what the numbers are.

2. each cat gets one condo per day and any questions you have about lantus, about feeding, about dosing, etc. MUST go in that one condo.

The reason we ask this is, as you can see, there are many many cats in LL. If everyone opened a different condo for every question, we'd never ever be able to get through them all.

If you would like to post regularly in Lantus TR ISG, then we would really need you to look at the following post and set up the SSs. The other option is that you post in Relaxed Lantus and that you post your general questions about feeding, etc. in Health.

Making the Most of your Lantus ISG experience

Thanks George. We appreciate you helping us so we can help you :-D
