My Heart Kitty Perry Is Gone 10-6-20 One Year Already

Some of you know that Tyler's brother had kidney disease and wanted me to let them know how
he has been doing

He had it for about 5 years
I did everything I could for him , he started sub fluids in June every day
Started Epogen in July
Started Aluminum Hydroxide Powder binder in July
Finally this Sunday he didn't eat that much
He wasn't his usual energetic self
Monday he started to go off on his own hiding, not like him
He was always by my side giving lots of head butts and kisses
This cat loved me like you wouldn't believe
Took him to my vet tonight for blood work which was already scheduled , I knew I was not going to get good news.
My vet came out with the results and his numbers sky rocketed
He was in kidney failure
So I went in and held him as he psssed, crying like a baby, crying now again
I love Tyler with all my heart but Perry was my heart kitty, so loving and sweet
I don't think Tyler will even notice his brother is gone
Tyler is a real loner.
Now I just can't get the picture out of my mind of him passing
I just loved him so so much
My poor precious Perry
I will never ever forget him
He used to jump in the bath tub and wait for me to run my finger along the outside of the shower curtain and he would bat my finger..
This went on for about 5 minutes
It was our little game
He would lead me to his cat napper so he could give me head
butts and kisses.
This is going to take me a long time for me to even
accept that he's gone.
My heart is broken

Oh no. I'm so sorry for your loss. cat_wings>oMy heart goes out to you so much because I lost my Sophie in April and she wasn't just a cat either, she was human in a fur coat. She made it to almost 19. Like yours, she would always bat at the shower curtain to tag my finger and forever followed me and in my arms with kisses and head butts. I still cry over my baby so I'm just so very saddened for you. Here's a hug.:bighug:

I am so glad you could be with him and hold him as he passed on his journey. He would have felt your love.

I honestly dont know how to take this...Hes been a part of everything you ...forever. Diane I join you in tears... I'm just SO very sorry. I KNOW Perry's spirit will be near. I' really am at a loss for words. (((((((Diane & Perry)))))))

Oh Diane, I'm so very sorry to read this. Yes, there's nothing like the loss of one of our precious furbabies to just break your heart into a million pieces. I'm sending you much love and support during this difficult time. We all here understand the depth of your pain as you try to recover from losing him. It takes time, just remember he will always be in your heart, a permanent place that will never be quite the same that we willingly give our kitties...and they change us forever.

He was so lucky to have you as his mama bean.

Thank you Carla, the house is so empty without him, like I said Tyler is such a loner, he doesn't even notice that Perry is gone.
I love Tyler to bits, but with him it's like having no cat in the house at all.
He will let you pet him for a couple of minutes and that's it

The only time he will rub me or head butt is when he wants food lol
That's just the way he is.

Its so strange to get up and not have to give Perry his fluids, his Epogen shot every 3 days, put the binder on his food etc

When I got home last night I was so mad and upset that I took the bag of fluids, the binder, his phenobarbital and keppra and threw them in the garbage like an animal

I said to myself, no more Perry you don't have to do this anymore.
He was such a sweet boy, when I gave him his fluids he would turn on his side and
purr and turn around and look at me wanting me to rub his face with my nose.

Thank you Megan , out of all the kitties I have ever had he was the only one
that made me his. The only one that followed me around every where, wanted
so much love , would look at me with such love in his eyes that my daughter
would say oh that's sickening lol

Jeanne thank you so very much, the house is so empty without him.
Like I have told everyone Tyler is such a loner, doesn't like to be. pet that long
he will then push you away with his paw.
He only shows affection when he wants to eat lol
He doesn't even care or miss Perry being gone.
But I still love my Tubby boy lol

Here is something I didn't say about Perry

After my Jake passed me and my daughter wanted to adopt another kitty
I looked on line and there was an organization called Angels for Animals
They were going to be at a Petco with kitties there to be adopted
I saw Tyler picture there
I fell in love immediately
So me and my daughter went there ( my husband had passed around that time )
We walked in and there was Tyler ,I guess he was about 8 weeks old , I forget but he was very young
Now who was in the cage with him was his brother Perry
Ashley held Tyler and I picked up Perry
The lady asked me if I would adopt both if them since they were brothers
I told her not really
Perry was snuggling up under my chin ,well that was that
I took them both
I think back now imagine if I didn't take Perry and he would up with another
family who might have put him down because of him having seizures and kidney
disease.
He started to have seizures about 5 years ago but they were under control with
the phenobarbital and keppra.
He didn't have one in the past 2 years
I was even able to lower his dosage on them
So I guess I was meant to have him and him have me
My poor boy, he was such a tough little guy

I am very sorry to read this. What a great-spirited cat your Perry was. You poured so much of your heart into him, and his going away leaves a huge hole there.

So many of us here have lost a heart kitty and I think the best thing we can say is simply "I understand."

I am so, very sorry for your loss Diane. The bond becomes even closer with our precious ones that need extra care every day, every hour... Saying goodbye is the hardest thing to do but that strong bond will always be there.

A truly heart crushing loss. This memory is precious and he will live on in you for your whole life through it. Not the same as a good hard clunk of a head butt though. :(
