Re: My cat's not drinking water & won't poop in the litter b
my cat always drank water. always. even when she wasnt diabetic. i attributed it to the fact that i always fed her dry food and that made her thirsty. when she was in the early stages of diabetes, she drank even more water. but now that i have switched her over to wet food and her diabetes is regulated, she drinks absolutely no water at all.
as long as cats are on wet food, they will get enough water from the food, that they dont need to drink any extra water. i still put extra water in my kitty's food tho, cos her kidneys arent that good, so it helps with that
if bob hasnt pooped at all, definitely get him checked out by the vet. if he still is doing some poop, but having troubles, he might be a bit constipated. adding canned pumpkin to the food helps, or some extra fibre, and extra water as well
also, since bob is an older cat, it could be possible that he has arthritis and the squatting position to poop may be causing him some pain or discomfort. and since cats will associate this pain with the litter box, they will go outside they box where they think it doesnt hurt
but first things first, you want to make sure he doesnt have any sort of blockage preventing him from pooping
