Yea. You have been such a help. I thnk I'm good for now. I'm going to stay up a few more hours and keep testing and monitoring.

I'll start posting his bg's on his chart and gets some advise from the Lantus group.

Thanx for your kind support :)

You're so welcome, Hayley! I'll be up for about another half hour or so. Feel free to post the next # when you get one; otherwise, I will say good night & wish you & Nino a lovely Christmas Day! (You're doing a great job steering him tonight, btw!:bighug:)

Thank you Robin - and to you and Bat-Bat. :D And you and Nino, Hayley. :D I'm going to watch a little TV now - just some old shows we have recorded but I can check back in about an hour to make sure you're doing OK Hayley. :)

No worries - he's doing way better now. That 73 is much more reassuring. :) I'd get one more test in a few minutes if you can - you want to make sure he's staying up before you go to bed (I'm sorry, I know it's really late and you must be exhausted after working so hard with him this evening). Oh and, if it helps any, my Rosa also has CKD as well as the diabetes - it takes a little bit of adjustment, but you can manage both and keep him healthy and happy. :)

Hi all sorry I didn't reply yesterday. I've been having trouble with my internet on my iPad. I didn't give him any insulin yesterday, as I wasn't able to monitor.

He is so so. BG is very high today 567.

I just gave him .75 of Lantus. I'm having trouble inputting his to his SS.
I'm going to test a lot and go over to he Lantus group once I get the numbers to input on google docs.

He doesn't look very happy. But I be
I believe this is the Ckd.

I would think that the 567 is a combination of a bounce from the very long time he spent in very low numbers and you not giving insulin yesterday - though that was absolutely the right thing to do when you couldn't monitor him during the day. He will come back down and he was safe while you were away from home - that's the most important thing. I'm not sure how much to think the CKD is affecting him - if he needed IV fluids, then he must have been very dehydrated, where Rosa's CKD was caught on a routine blood test as she wasn't showing symptoms but I'm sure he'll start to feel better as you get everything under control for him. :)

A favour to ask.....Can you edit the thread title and remove the 911 now? I'm sure I'm not the only one who saw this and thought there was an emergency going on! Sure glad there isn't and that all worked out fine the other night! :)

Yes I was waiting to get a full days data before going over to the Lantus boards. Though I have a feeling he may do well with .75 if not less. He seems to be doing better today.

Hi Matahari.

I see Nino has been mucking around on one of these ...

Glad to read that yesterday was much more uneventful and that Nino's feeling a bit better. :)

Just a thought: I see from comments on this thread and from Nino's spreadsheet notes that you're sometimes giving him fluids for his CKD. Varying hydration levels can impact on blood glucose concentration. When you are posting on the Lantus & Levemir board, I'd suggest asking for tips on managing administration of both sub-q fluids and insulin safely and successfully.
