My cat just read 204 on the glucose meter.

Should I not give him insulin? He has been on it for 7 days now? can I hurt him or cause it to go to low?
he was 341 this morning and 480 last night

Should be safe as long as you're feeding him/her with the shot but I would grab a test again in about 3 hours or before you turn in for the night.

As long as you're testing you will catch any problems with a low reading. As long as you're sure the cat is eating well.

I will give him a check before bed. thank you.
his numbers have been all over the place this week. Mostly because my partner was giving him a little lite food from the other cats diet, not knowing it was loaded with carbs.
And he is eating like a pig. :)

If possible switching both cats to the same diet avoids the diabetic getting into contraband and great for the other cat as well. No kitty should be eating a carb rich diet.

We'd be happy to help you with your buddy if you'd like to post over here.

Is that with an AlphaTrak? Either way, I agree with Mel that you should be fine if you're able to monitor and grab a "before bed" test to make sure he's not dropping too fast or too low.
