Musette dosing advice needed

This morning Musette decided to throw me a curve ball.

Her morning test was 64, so I stalled 30 minutes, retested got a 52, stalled another 30 minutes, retested got a 50. Fed her before the other cats revolted and made me breakfast. 1 hour after eating tested her again this timeshe was back up to 61. Now two hours after eating she is 72.

Obviously this evening she will get a reduced dose, as she has earned it. But the question is should I go ahead and shoot a reduced dose now? Shoot a half dose? Or completely skip this morning's dose altogether?

oh mel, i hope you skipped dose. musette really has no room to drop from here.....you had no choice. unless you wanted to do the lantus land thing and just feed the carbs to control her.
if you do that i just don't see how you can ever really know when kitty is really getting ready to otj on you.
dose reduce of course!
 
You might as well skip this morning and see how she does, but the shed will be emptying throughout the day. Maybe try .4U tonight, unless she stays below 200 all day, then consider .25U. You don't want to lose momentum.
 
vicky i sooo agree about the momentum thing. either way tho' you give up something right?
i mean if you shoot it and go a bit too low, now your either bouncing from the low...or from the carbs given to control it.
and if you wait you lose your shed.
i have BOS, but i don't shoot THAT number. i have shot .05 into a steady stream of ps's in the 80's that is .05 tho. down from .1u
 
Well at what would normally be her +4 if she would have been shootable this morning, she finally hit 148, so to try to head off a rapid rise tonight I gave her a .25u, or half of her normal dose. Just checked her at her new +3 and she still looks great 167! So definitely tonight she is getting a dose decrease, depending on how she does the rest of the day, it will either be a .4 or .25. Just with her being a DKA survivor I didn't want her to raise too much today if I can head it off at the pass.

And Yes, Lori I have BOS too, but that is still a No Shoot number for me was well, and anything under 100 is certainly not getting a full dose. Glad its the weekend so I can stay up with her for awhile tonight.

Yep and they make a nice fashion statement when worn with steel toed sugar dance shoes.. :lol:

And wouldn't you know it out of a tortie to decide to toss this curve ball, right when I fed the last can of the MC food to the civies last night...lol

Okay then I must have em too. Bob's last shot was a .5 into a79. He dropped to 54. I think his must be made of Rearden Metal!

Yep, you got em too.

Musette is a fickle Pastel Tortie-Pointed Princess, who refuses to play by the rules... :lol: I keep reading her the stickies on how Lantus is suppose to work, but she doesn't seem to get it, and decides to do everything HER way.
