Waiting to hear back from the vet with an update but she is very sick details so far are here

Not at all sure yet what is going on with her, her BGs aren't skyhigh, in fact Saturday she had her best run of greens to date. By Sunday she was looking like she was on death's door so off to the ER we went. Since she is a DKA survivor twice before I adopted her the moderate ketones scared the bejeeses out of me. They will be running bloodwork and taking xrays as well as treating her for the ketones...hopefully I will know more later this morning. But right now I feel like I have been run over by a Mac Truck.

OH Musette, please get better for your momma.

wishes and prayers for both of you.

She's not good at all..her liver enzymes are elevated, but her kidney values are fine..High Ketones, even though she only tested at 273 for her amps at the vet clinic, her electrolytes are completely out of whack, still not eating on her own and if she doesn't start at some point today we are having them put in an e-tube, got to get food in her somehow and she isn't taking well to the syringe feeding she is growling and fighting them...When I went to see her earlier today she wanted to go home so bad. She cried when the tech came to take her back to her cage and tried to cling to my neck and arm...I managed to hold it together enough to get out of there and drive home but then spent the next 15 minutes bawling my eyes out.

She just looks so sad and so weak, even though she kept trying to stand up and jump off the table into my arms..they have a IV in her little front leg and it has a little soft cast on it...It broke my heart to have to leave her behind.

This is a picture I took of her while I was there to visit, she spent most of our visit like this if I would try to move my hand away she would pull it back and lay her head on it again.

So sorry to read the lastest update, Mel. Poor Musette really misses her mom. (((HUGS)))

Do they have any ideas on what could be causing these problems and caused her to get sick so quickly? Major praying here that it's something simple, and she gets to go home with you on Tuesday.

If her liver enzymes are elevated, she may have an inflammation in or around the liver & gall bladder.

What have they used to treat her?

Would Silmarin or Marin (milk thistle) help with this?
