Well, one unit of Lantus on Friday a.m., and we have been OTJ since Friday evening. It appears that yes, she does have iatrogenic Cushing's, from inhaled steroids, so yes, a steroid is a steroid. Yesterday was a rough one for her, as Friday, she had many many tests, and last but not least the dreaded enema. I think yesterday, she was just burned out from the bodily abuse. She has been a little inappetant over the weekend, but I went and got some Wellness turkey and salmon, to tempt her taste buds a little more and she did eat all of it. And, she is drinking on her own, and so far, urination is very regular with no sugar.
Dr. Herrera believes that the Cushing's is the result of the diabetes, the MRSA and the demodex from the inhaled meds that eventually brought her immune system to a complete halt. If we can get the Flovent down, we will be heading in the right direction and so far, her BG numbers appear to be very, very good.
And, I cannot thank you all enough for your assistance this past Friday. Without you, I'm not sure where we would be.
Regards, Lisa and Murphy
