Hi all. You will not believe this -- Murphy was sick and losing weight, and she had lost 1.11 # from last Thursday through this past Thursday! Come to find out -- I guess I have good intuition, I told the pet sitter to immediately take Murphy to the vet's office and have both Murphy and Oscar overnighted. Murphy had her senior panel and OMG -- every lab was NORMAL! For the first time, none of her labs were elevated and all was the way they should be. I was so shocked, but it was hard work getting her there.
So, we come to the next issue -- Murphy had a urinalysis which I had suggested to the vet -- she has serious urinary tract infection w/ e-coli! Between the overuse of the ventolin rescue inhaler and the urinary tract infection, it is no wonder she was so sick. And, we heard a gallop in her heart, which would have come from the overuse of the Ventolin and I hope it goes away.
The pet sitter is on my S---- list now. How she could have missed that she had lost 4 pounds is beyond me. There's more to be upset about, but if I write about it, it just fumes me up again. But the one thing I do know is that when Murphy started getting sick and was hiding, she would only come out to eat, and at that, she was eating very little, like maybe not even 1/4 of a can of wet food. The sitter was picking the food up and Murphy was basically going into a catabolic state from starvation. She didn't pee yesterday. Today she had a huge pee, so I'm happy about that. I had to have a good friend from the vet's office come over last night, and b/c I'm wheelchair bound, she and I decided to syringe feed her. She was too sick and apparently nauseated to even eat. The good thing is that Murpy, Oscie and I are home together now. And, I have that motherly instinct that made me tell the sitter to take her into the vet's office to have her checked and boarded, and had I not, she would have been much worse, or even not here.
I'm glad that God is looking over all of us. He is good and looks over the little babies too.
