If someone could please comment, and perhaps I am mistaken, but these numbers do not appear to be that of a kitty who is not diabetic. I am going to speak with her vet to see about at least starting her back on .5 Lantus twice per day. I don't want this getting out of control.

Thoughts anyone? Lisa

Couldn't open your SS (MY computer at fault), so I couldn't see the numbers. If you decide to go back on the juice, I hope just a brief spell will do. Let us know1

Sorry it took me so long. The Cushing's is an interference in this situation as well. But, I'm checking her urine every single day, and until she sees the strip turn color, she doesn't want to continue the insulin. On this, I'm just not educated. Thoughts?

Lisa --

Are you checking urine glucose or ketones? FWIW, if you're testing for glucose via urine tests, it's not a terribly accurate means of testing. The issue is that it takes hours for an animal (human or cat) to process waste into urine. As a result, the glucose level in urine is hours old. If you're testing for ketones, you don't want the strip to turn color. I think you know this but I wasn't clear on what you were testing for.
