Let me get the pmps and then I'll post
@Sharon14 - I just looked at ADW website and don't really know what I am looking for - can you send me specifics on the syringes?I got some u40's with half markings from ADW
@Robin&BB pmps was 318 - I drew up 1.5 but I suppose I could do 1.75 I have a few minutes before I need to shoot - your thoughtsI'm still thinking 1.5, but if you'd rather kind of ease Murphy in that direction with a 1.75 tonight, I think that would be ok ... but it's up to you. What's your own 'gut' saying to you?
well, I shot 1.5 -it's very difficult with those syringes though I am going to order the ones Sharon recommended@Robin&BB pmps was 318 - I drew up 1.5 but I suppose I could do 1.75 I have a few minutes before I need to shoot - your thoughts
Sorry for the delay, Carol - my stupid ISP bombed on me; had to reboot! Yeah, that was fine that you shot the 1.5; I bet you'll be glad to get your hands on the ones like Sharon has, huh?well, I shot 1.5 -it's very difficult with those syringes though I am going to order the ones Sharon recommended
@Rachel @Robin&BB me too -- thank you so much for your interest in this - if it wouldn't be for you two (and Sue) I'd still be giving him 3 units (and not being able to do the pmps) I ordered the new syringes so all should be good soon I'll get another reading tonight but tomorrow I'll be gone from 8:30 am until after 5 pm so no pokes tomorrow until the pmpsVerrry interesting. That PMPS, though pink, was a low pink. I'm super interested to see how 1.5 does.
Well, Murphy's ears will thank you, right?but tomorrow I'll be gone from 8:30 am until after 5 pm so no pokes tomorrow until the pmps![]()
@Sue and Oliver (GA) - hope you are squeezing every last minute of fun out of your trip- Murphy LOVES the venison, but I am going slowly - he is getting 1/8 of a large can a day (split into two) I am working my way towards 1/4 can but I am hoping if I do it slowly enough, it will work without him getting sick. I am not sure he will ever be able to tolerate a whole can, but we'll seeHe is looking better, Carol. I hope you are able to rest up too.
How is the food situation? Is he interested in the version wet? If we could just find something he'd like to eat that was lower carb, I think it would really help with his numbers.
Good Morning Carol. I had given Bubba and Forrest venison in the past; one thing I can say about it, the house stunk! Very gamey smelling... does it bother your nose? So glad that Murphy is tolerating it though!@Sue and Oliver (GA) - hope you are squeezing every last minute of fun out of your trip- Murphy LOVES the venison, but I am going slowly - he is getting 1/8 of a large can a day (split into two) I am working my way towards 1/4 can but I am hoping if I do it slowly enough, it will work without him getting sick. his amps was 434 - we'll see how much the 1.5 units brings it down - again, thanks guys
@Bobbie And Bubba - I have the Royal Canin cans and I don't smell anything - the Young Again mature 0 carbs is another story - I put it in the freezer (both to maybe cut down on bacterial contamination and to see what happened to the smell) It did seem to help the awful smell of Young AgainGood Morning Carol. @Sharon14 - happy to see those pinks in Colin's SS - go Colin - hopefully the UTI will clear and his BG will fall - did you ever look in to the D-mannose? what about the slippery elm?Tried to link it, didn't work... It's ' Care Point u40 Pet Syringes. 3/10 cc 1/2" w/half unit markings'. Cost 11.84

except now I am worried about what the next dose should beJust looked at Murpheys spreadsheet GREAT!!!
Keep in mind: These mid-cycle #s are blues, not greens, so ... I'd be inclined to go for a smaller redux - say, 1.25 if you can squeeze it somewhere in that neighborhood*? Appears he definitely needs a redux, but I'm thinking we might minimize any bouncing that way, considering that he's already had a big drop @ +8 from that pink AMPS. How does that sound - and can you monitor tonight?Even if it is shootable around 200 don't you think 1.5 will be too much? I can't believe it got to the low 100s. I am thinking - unless the pmps is around 300, I am going to give him 1 unit
Ok, I totally understand why you're nervous - can't blame you at all, as this is such a huge difference from only 3 days back! (I'm one of those who never gets much shut-eye at night anyway, so forget that there are actually people who do sleep...well My thinking is that the #s are very close to a green - I read that with Alphatrak #s, you have to start getting nervous at 80 - so that makes me nervous to have him at 106 -If his pmps is in the high 200s, I'll give him a 1.25 (or a fat 1 with my syringes) If it is in the low 200s, I'd even be nervous to give him 1 unit I hate the pm dose and having to worry about hypoglycemia at night and then the question of what to give him tomorrow I am just shocked that his numbers are like this today
This would be ok, too - it's important that you feel comfortable with what you're doing - especially overnight. You're on Central Time, right? So what time (at your time) is PMPS?If his pmps is in the high 200s, I'll give him a 1.25 (or a fat 1 with my syringes) If it is in the low 200s, I'd even be nervous to give him 1 unit I hate the pm dose and having to worry about hypoglycemia at night and then the question of what to give him tomorrow
I think that'll do fine, Carol - will save you worry overnight. Always good to get some decent rest!
I will probably be closer to 6 am Central time tomorrow - I guess the question is - if amps in 300s give him fat 1? if in 200s, skinny 1? if he bounces or is the 400s- still fat one? Also as a reminder...I'm around here about 5:15ish (Central Time) in the mornings. At least during the week. Not sure what tie your AMPS is, but if it's around then, I'll be here!
Actually I am still stunned & a little nervousCarol, wonderful!!!!!! This is so awesome. Wow, so it looks like his dose was too high!! And look at those blues. This is sooooooo exciting!!! I can't wait to see what you get tomorrow!!!!! Are you smiling right now, Carol!!???
Yep, I'd say probably would be good to try it that way. 'Cause you can always bump it up a wee bit more later on down the road if his mid cycle #s start creeping up, you know?I will probably be closer to 6 am Central time tomorrow - I guess the question is - if amps in 300s give him fat 1? if in 200s, skinny 1? if he bounces or is the 400s- still fat one?
Do you feel a little like you've just landed in Oz, Carol?Actually I am still stunned & a little nervous
Surely you know I won't be able to resist sneaking a peek at his SS whenever I can ... Is he feeling better, allergy-wise, with that switch to Zyrtec? (Out here it's not the ragweed; it's the controlled burns that they're doing in the Nat'l. Forest that surrounds this town. (Way too much smoke wafting through the air - thank goodness it rained a bit when that storm came through this afternoon.)Robin let's hope he's still in blues when you return
