Murphy +146 Mid-day But Sugar in Urine (Dark Strip)

Anyone have experience with normal BG but sugar in the urine where the urine strip turns dark brown? Murphy is at 146 right now, but when I used the strip, it turned very dark brown. She had been in the high 200s and low 300s earlier this week, but this is very strange to me. I'm taking her in to see her vet -- possibly a UTI?

Thoughts?

Glucose will "spill" over to the urine when BG is above 180-240 or so. Therefore, it could be the some of the urine was produces when BG was greater than above 180 or so.

It appears that the R/D that we used to help her poo may have caused her to start producing sugar again, so a few days off, and her numbers are now perfect. Yeah. Hopefully, we haven't interrupted the honeymoon. When we checked her yesterday at the vet, there wasn't any sugar, so it must be something that was slowly ending. She seems totally fine now. I'm so happy.

Cross fingers that her little honeymoon continues. It's been 14 days now.

Is it possible that the strips had expired? Or that you read it later than what is listed? In other words, if it says to read it in 30 seconds it may keep getting darker and darker after that length of time. Just a thought.

Looking at Murphy's spreadsheet, it appears to me that Murphy's pancreas is still in the healing stage and that she would benefit from a small dose of insulin on a regular basis to get her BG levels below 100 (in the greens).

We did further testing, and believe that it definitely was the Hill's R/D, which we had hoped would help her poo, but now, it's been over a week, and she has definitely leveled out. Her numbers are good, and I can tell she feels better. Nope, the strips are brand new. 21 days no insulin.
