Checking in on Munchie. I tested her urine when I came home tonight and she had no glucose in the urine. Her pre-shot was still decent (well lower for her than her average) at 209. I've only had a no glucose reading once before for her (of course her numbers have been a bit all over the place)..and that time when I didn't lower her dose the next shot she dove. Her energy was a little lower as well tonight. I did have food out for her as safety which was good. I've been telling myself to try to test her urine more when her numbers are good so that I have a basis for comparison but have been having trouble catching her on those good periods to get it. For others that have cats with more regulated numbers, do you get no glucose (it literally didn't change color at all) when they're still in an okay zone...or is there some variance in the cats on this? Because she's gotten way too low 2x very recently and the talk here that she may actually need a lower dose, I felt it better to be safe and lower her down. My vet is actually doing a consult with an endocrinologist on her next week hopefully. So I'll be interested in that.

Thanks.

Do you test her urinefor ketones also? Many of us don't test urine for glucose because of bg testing. I am more concerned about ketones for her, but you can get strips that test for both, so that's what I recommend if you want to get urine glucose also.
