we have four indoor cats. How would I feed them economically but all the same for Baby Cat's best interest in mind? I don't know if I could do raw, but that many cans of FF daily would be really expensive.

Yes, it is very expensive, that's exactly what I am doing right now! I was using Wellness, the one with the yellow triangle on the label; it was economical and they were all doing really well on it, but after abut a month they decided they wouldn't eat it anymore. But if yours will eat it, it's a good food and a little less expensive to feed. I bought the big cans and divvied them up, that was the most economical.

If you find something else that works, please post it, I am always looking for affordable food solutions! Good luck!

Yeah, it adds up even with the two cats I have. Hopefully some others will have better recommendations, but if you do decide to stick with FFC, look for discounts, sales, and coupons - and then stock up. Sometimes Petsmart, Target, and Amazon have sales on them. The cans usually have a couple years until their expiration. So get what you can when they're on sale and make a place in your closet to store them. Stack them so the closest expiration dates are in front, the farthest in back.

I've been thinking about cooked meat. BC won't eat raw, but he's always loved cooked chicken, beef, fish and pork. Our cat Milo, who passed away last year, loved raw meat! I wouldn't mind cooking for them and it seems like that would be doable. I just need to figure out how to make sure they get their nutrition correct.

Check out www.catinfo.org. Dr. Pierson gas a good recipe for homemade cat food!

I have 3 cats and I just switched them to FF, which brought my pet food allowance (including dog food, litter, freeze-dried treats, etc) to around $130/month from the $240/month when I started feeding BFF and Tiki Cat.

I keep a look out for deals, and I order off Chewy.com because it's seems to be the cheapest place to buy most food. Ex: 24 pack of FF in store is around $14-$15 dollars but online it's $11.99.

I'd love to feed mine raw but I discovered they were not fans of it and I have too much going on at the moment to struggle with a transition to raw, even though it would be the most financially and biologically appropriate.

I have 7 1/4 cats (one is a kitten) and they are all fed canned food. The adults are fed Friskies pate flavors and the kitten is fed Fancy Feast canned kitten food. It is much easier to feed them all the same food. Plus it reduces the risks that any of the other cats developing feline diabetes.

I just spent the morning reading her pages. I think that sounds just right for us, and given how she transitioned them, it buys me the time to get equipment etc. thanks for sharing.
That's great! You are very welcome, I'm happy to be of help! I really hope it works out for you. If you wouldn't mind, please let me know how it works out for you; I have been thinking about trying it, myself, but am still teetering between "do" and "don't", lol! :D:D
