Mr. Sir, diabetic for at least 2 years (need to go back and reread his medical history from previous owner), and on ProZinc 4U SQ BID. He's also on hypohydrolyzed food for assumed sensitivities that caused skin/coat issues. It's a prescription dry, so not an appropriate diet I'm finding out. Sooo.... will need to do some research and experimenting. He's only been home with me for about a week, and he's in a phase of not wanting to eat as heartily as he has when he's boarded at the clinic I met him at (that I work at part time). I'm doing home checks and his BG has been all over the place. Brought him to work (emergency vet tech for full time job) to do a glucose curve. Going to start entering things into his new spreadsheet.
Have already learned a LOT tonight after finding this site. Great resource!!! Hoping I can find a food that's more appropriate (possibly raw, have done that for my dogs) and his eating and BGs settle down. He's a good old guy.
