Mr. Darcy is gone

At 2pm Mr. Darcy left for the Bridge.

He has had a Lymph node tumor for months that we kept draining. Two weeks ago was the last drain and the tumor came back even larger. It was wrapped around his trachea.

He stopped eating Saturday night. Today palpation and X-ray showed a tumor in his abdomen that was larger than a grapefruit. This was not there before. He just had a urine done with the last lymph node drain, blood was done too and that was perfect. Today he was severely anemic, at 8%, vet said a transfusion wouldn't even help because the belly tumor would just make him anemic again tomorrow.

He was in obvious pain, I had to let him go. I love him dearly and am heart broken to lose him.
 
Oh Jen. I am so very,very sorry. Darcy was so lucky to have had you in his life. thank you for loving him a much as you did.

Sorry very sorry to hear about your loss. Sounds like he is in a much better place now though. Very little comfort I know, but you did all you could.
 
OMG Jennifer - I'm so sorry to hear this! Somehow I missed that he was even sick. I hope the presence of your other kitties will help you get through this time. Sending your lots of hugs from me and Merlin.
 
Dear Jennifer,

This was such a shock to hear how quickly his condition worsened. I am so very, very sorry that Mr. Darcy is now with all of our other furbabies at the bridge, but he is surely feeling free from pain and suffering.

You did the very best anyone could do, and even though your heart is so sad, I do believe that one day you will see him again. He is now a sweet angel and I pray that you will find peace in the coming days.

Sending lots of prayers and hugs this sad day.... :(

Jen, my deepest sympathy to you and Ron on the passing of beautiful Mr. Darcy. You may have only had him for less than a year but in that time Mr. Darcy was given good food, lots and lots of loving, a home where he felt safe and enough love to help him on his way when it became necessary. He had improved so much in those pictures too and I know Ron dearly loved him. I am so sad for both of you.....just not enough time for you with him but what a wonderful year you gave him. My heart goes out to you. wings_cat
 
Jen, I am so sorry for your loss of Mr. Darcy. Fly free Mr. Darcy - free of pain, and play like a kitten again at the Rainbow Bridge.

Oh Jen, I'm so sorry to read this. Thank heavens Mr. Darcy found you and Ron when he did as he found angels on earth. Now he'll be watching over you. What a sweetheart he was!
 
((Jennifer)) I am so sorry to see this. I was holding out hope he would be okay, as I am sure you were. Mr. Darcy was very loved and well taken care of when he became a part of your family. I am so sorry for your loss.

jenn i knew this was coming from seeing you on FB yesterday, still, makes me so sad.
i am very sorry for your loss. mr. darcy is set free, but why are'nt we? (of the pain)
 
I'm so sorry Jennifer!! At least he passed peacefully!! You obviously did everything you could for your kitty.

I want so much to get another cat after losing Bally 3 weeks ago. He was my only pet.

i am so sorry for your loss, jennifer. glad that mr darcy is now free from pain. that part is horrible and they know they can trust us to help them out of it.
i'm sure cleo met him and they went to the bridge together. (((Hugs)))
 
I am so, so sorry. Even when you know it's the only choice to make, it still hurts so much to say goodbye. His body is at rest, his soul has slipped free, but the love between you two remains strong - it does not die. He is free of pain, and waits for you at the Bridge.

My heart aches with yours.
 
how very sad ... I'm so sorry to read this .. Mr Darcy knew you loved him and did all you could for him, including freeing him from pain .. Fly Free Mr Darcy ...

I am so sorry for your loss of Mr Darcy. But try to take comfort in the fact that you did everything possible for him including giving him the greatest gift of love that we humans have to give our furry friends. The release from pain and illness.

I too am heartbroken over Mr. Darcy's passing. He was so incredibly happy with his new beans and furries. He had landed so softly at your home, and he knew it. I know he would have stayed forever if it had been his choice to make.

His life-before-Jennifer-and-Ron was so hard, but he did have a joyous almost eleven months in your home. I am betting that he completely forgot that he had been anywhere but with you and Ron. So I must say, that he had the best life ever. Thank you for helping him pass in peace. For completing his cycle of life with joy, love, and peace.

I am so sorry...I don't even have the words except to say that any kitty that finds it's way into your home and heart(I include Ron in this, of course), no matter how long or short the stay, is a very lucky and well-loved kitty.

I'm sorry to hear this, but know you did the right thing. You ended his suffering, but his memory will stay with you.
