Mr. Caesars Sheet

Hi and welcome to FDMD/LBL forum! :-)

It looks like Mr. Caesar needs an increase. I would take him up to 1.75U tomorrow. I don't know if you have read through our dosing methods:
Dosing Methods: Start Low, Go Slow (SLGS) & Tight Regulation (TR)

I see from your SS that you are feeding FF Pate and Dr. Elsey's Cleanprotein dry food? Is he still getting Temptation treats? Those are super high carb and you want to stop them. Since he is eating dry food you cannot follow the TR protocol but would need to follow SLGS. With SLGS you hold doses for a week and then evaluate the dose to see if he needs an increase. You do not hold doses longer than a week if the numbers are not where you want them to be.

Do you think you can ditch the dry food and feed him only the FF pate?

Lastly, in addition to updating your Spreadsheet, it would be a big help to us if you can set-up your signature? It's basically a summary of the information we need about your cat to give you advice. The spreadsheet and signature are the things we look at when asked for advice. It saves us asking you the same questions again and again especially when the question is time critical like stalling or low numbers. It also saves you the effort of giving us the information every time you post!

Here's how you can set-up your Signature:
  • In the Menu, under your user name, click on Signature.
  • Add info we need to help you:
    • Caregiver & kitty's name
    • DX: Date
    • Name of Insulin (do not include dose or frequency)
    • Name of your meter
    • Diet: "LC wet" or "dry food" or "combo"
    • Dosing: TR or SLGS or Custom (if applicable)
    • DKA or other recent health issue (if applicable)
    • Acro, IAA, or Cushings (if applicable)
    • Spreadsheet link. Please put the signature link on the bottom line of your signature information, on its own, so it is easy to find.
  • Please do not put any information about your location in the signature for security reasons. If you wish to add your country location, please add it to your profile.
  • There is a limit of two lines. You may separate info with commas, dashes, | etc.
  • Be sure to click the 'Save Changes' button at the bottom.

Oh boy I’m so confused.
I erased the signature bc it said too many lines but I have fixed that now I think.

No keytones. I’m pretty good at catching him daily.
No DKA.

I listed temptations bc my room mate was giving them to him even though I told her not to. Smh.

I have 4 kitties. I have been giving a half cup of Dr. Elseys in the am and pm and came to find out today room mate was giving a half a cup at 6 /7 am every morning. I did not know. She asked why Caesar peed in the kitchen so I had a stern talk with her. I already had one. Smh. I get they all scream at her every morning bc she loves and spoils them. I am pretty upset about this though. She sees me working so hard at this and she sees my costs. I’m moving forward now I can’t change the past.

I thought I had written an introduction but I don’t really remember since it was prob in late October early November. It was a confusing time and mom had passed away a few days b4 Caesar’s diagnosis.

I read your sticky. Thank you so much.

I posted some info to tifmaxee also in Regards to your reply. I have the signature I believe. I had erased it bc of the 2 lines thing. In my reply below I explain about the dry food. That change is now made. I’m going to see how it goes now that they won’t be getting food unbeknownst to me. Now I know why I was blowing through a bag every maybe 2 weeks at 35$ and hence his numbers never lowering. I listed temptations bc at the time I made that sheet my room mate was still giving them to him. I didn’t want to leave any crucial Information out. I will get back to make sure I have all that info in the signature. I think I understand it. Not so savvy with all of this so I apologize in advance. Thank you so much

I forgot to tell you that I raised his dose also. I will check him shortly to see how he looks. And then I will try and get one at 3am. I have covid so I’m a little off. Good night

I see in your info above that you have all the information about Lando. I’m not seeing or finding my info that I thought I did maybe I didn’t but I can’t even find where to go and see it. ( all the information below your welcome message )

Feeling better now. Thank you.

Ok. I added info in the signature. Am I supposed to put my name in there also? That’s what I had done. Lol, like my signature.
It tells me too many lines. Etc etc.

I just put some info in. I need to adjust it looking at yours and others.
Thank you

Don’t put the insulin dose in your signature. Mine is very old and I was changing it often. It’s not needed there.
Add SLGS since he eats some dry food. Add type of meter used. Otherwise looks fine.

I think many of us put our names in the signature so that we arent called “ landos mom” or “ hey you” ;) but first name only

Ok. I have my list from ones if your post

Hi. I see the list of info for the signature. Now that I understand it I know what the list is for. Smh. I’m getting a hang of it. So don’t put his dowse on the signature ? Is that because it’s on his spreadsheet?
I’ll be putting up his numbers from last few days. I think raising the dose helped some. The dry food has been regulated in this house. I laid down the law. Have a couple of things to change in the signature and will notify you when I put up new numbers. I am also going to start introducing a different dry food this coming week. I’m getting there I hope. Thank you !!!!!
