Mouse!! Sneakers caught another one

No wonder Sneakers hasn't been that hungry- the source of all those mice have been my kitchen :!:
Old house, I think they've created a hole from under the house to the kitchen for warmth.

Ewe :shock: :oops:

So that means I will be spending my weekend watching curves and checking for mouse holes :YMSIGH:

Side news- ketones haven't changed- still between negative and a trace but it hasn't gotten higher yet. Todays +10 was high for some reason but her AM was great- +10 from PM shot high 200's and just above 300's after two hours of food.
 
That's true. Mice are an ideal balanced nutritional food for kitties. Pretty sure they are really low carb too.

5-6 % carbs


We had a mousey thing here in 2008 where citing scientists that had investigated the matter, both the nutrition content of a whole mouse and of a mouse without its head. It was different, those two. But what info I personally lacked from the scientists investigations was how much did the investigated mouses weigh. And how many mice does a cat actually eat a day if it can. That would give the total a day carb %.
 
well, the other two I found were smaller and just the front part was gone.

This one was bigger and I ... can't find it... I don't know if she ate the whole thing or... hid it somewhere :roll: . I went to exercise to leave her eating in peace.

Either way- her bg was lower than before but still high. I gave her 1.5u after she lapped up some blood that dripped out of some grass fed beef that i was thawing just in case.

Good idea. Here we call them "mousicles" and they are fed to the snakes at the Nature Center. The hognose snake wouldn't eat them, because they prefer the taste of "toad". So they caught a couple of toads and put them in an aquarium.....then at food time, they'd rub the thawed mouse on the live toads, and it was good enough to fool the snake!

When I was an explorer poster at the zoo I worked in the reptile house- until I realized that the cleaning supplies they used activated an allergic headache. Then they moved me to the nursery.

But I was thinking about that... selling frozen mice to fed diabetic cats :idea: :?: ... Though Sneakers didn't seem to care about hers after she had chomped them.
 
I wish my cats would eat the mice they catch. I usually find the dang things in my bed or on my chair.
Heidi and Frodo (who used to leave the mice on the dog's bed instead of mine)
