Ok folks - can I get excited now? Are we in remission??

I am thinking of doing B12 tho, he's playful again but not jumping as much as he was before or as I'd like. Can I get B12 from the vet?

I say "YES" Rejoice!!!!!!! Just keep a check on his numbers and keep the diet low carb and hopefully he will stay in remission!!!!! GOOD JOB!!!

Most vets do not carry Methyl B12-- you can order it on line or get it from somewhere like a GNC...I would check the supply closet on the main board and see if someone has some available--that is where I got mine!

That is wonderful!!
Congrats....It always make me so much more hopeful to see this happen!!

I'm not sure how we managed this!

Honestly we just started giving 1u from the day he came home, switched him to lo-carb wet food in a couple of days of dx. We were shooting blind for about a month (I know, bad!) until Motor started to get REALLY cranky about shots. He would hiss and bite and just all around ANGRY. So I thought he was probably telling me something about the dose.

We started home testing and the first day he was at 94! It excited me and scared me at the same time. We've been home testing ever since and haven't given him insulin since that day. He was bouncing all over the blues and hitting a couple of greens. His P just figured it out.

So I can take NO credit. It was ALL Motor!

But I hope it gives hope to others. I'd say listen to your cat. They know how they are feeling and ARE trying to tell us!

Something to aspire to, that's for sure. Alex and I want to be just like you and Motor when we grow up. :RAHCAT
