Hope all is well out there in kitty land.
We slept in today, well, I got up at 5:45 to do the kitties and then we all went back to bed :-D

We’ve been giving 2.4 the last few cycles but today I took it down to 2.2u. I need to shoot on time tonight since we have to show up at an event, and I need Asher to be safe when we are not here to keep an eye on him.

Some of his lower numbers these last couple days could still be from the dental this past Wed. But on 2.4 units he was hitting the 60’s and I fed some food after each of those to avoid him going lower. This screws up the “diet” he is supposed to be on too. We have multiple variables right now: dental drugs in his system, less food by 1/3 as per the vet wanting him to loose 5 lbs, and Asher just being Asher throwing us curves we least expect.

Wondering if you guys thought after today if I should continue to try to keep him in the greens mid day, so go back to a higher dose. Certainly it is good, I just worry how safe it is if one day he does decide to go low if we aren’t home. I don’t see Asher as a kitty who could ever go off the juice (especially now since I made such a bad decision last year to use a Freestyle meter) but I want to keep him as healthy as possible for as long as possible, and I’m not sure if blues and greens is better for long term health or if blues and yellows is just as good-and safer.

Just curious what others think. The SS is current if you want to take a look. Thanks tons :YMPEACE:

Hi Donna!
Have to be honest, I looked at Ashers SS and I have not seen so much green
in a very long time (October last year!)
I am thinking you should keep doing waht you are doing, keeping him safely in the greens
and PLEASE never give up hope on remission!

Hi Donna,

Anything under 250 - 280 is below renal threshold. So I think either is good. You want to keep him safe when you aren't going to be home so go with what you are comfortable with and what works with your schedule.

You and Asher are doing great.

I agree. You guys have this figured out and are amazing rolling with the punches. Just keep on doing what you are doing. Who know - maybe you will be the lucky one whose dental translates into lower bg levels. (I was beginning to think that was just a myth. We don't see it happening that often)

No advice for you, just checking in on Asher!

Hope the event goes well tonight!
