So the last update I posted was at a really confusing time and I first of all wanna say I apologize for not listening, I don't wanna be perceived as someone who doesn't listen to advice. I got scared and I followed the vet's instructions without thoroughly reading the threads responses beforehand.
We will be keeping Sica on 2 units of Lantus and slowly transitioning to the Purina wet food.
Her AMPS was 258 which I think is a pretty good bg for almost a week of a pretty chaotic treatment. Sadly, I think because it was really early (6:00 am, which will be her usual AMPS now because of my work schedule), I didn't manage to inject the insulin dose properly. I think only about 1u got in, if it even did. As per advice, I didn't try to inject again or anything. She's a little lethargic and her bg may rise but I'll keep her on the 2u because she seems to be doing best on that anyways.
She threw up again today, a few minutes ago, but honestly it's probably because she ate really fast and a bit much, definitely more than she usually does. I think she was recovering from not having eaten much yesterday. I'm still struggling with testing between insulin shots as I'm usually alone at home then and it's incredibly hard to handle her. Usually around 2-3 people need to hold her because she hates everything haha. Even being touched on the paw is annoying to her, always has been.
Anyways I'm sorry again for rushing into changing her dosage without researching first, I have read a few of the recommended links on Lantus administration and handling and I appreciate all the advice enormously. Will try to properly adjust the method I'm using in order to give her the best outcome.
