Monty had pancreatitis 2 weeks ago and was hospitalised for 3 days on IV. Symptoms were vomiting, diarrhea and not eating. He recovered quickly after being discharged.

He switched from caninsulin to Lantus 4 days ago and for the first 3 days he seemed livelier, had softer fur, less dandruff and is drinking a regular amount of water again.

Today however I woke up to diarrhea on the lounge floor, he seemed otherwise ok so I grabbed some pro biotic from my vet. This evening he isn't eating again :(

I've managed to get him to eat a half portion by spoon feeding, and I'm going to inject if he doesn't throw up in the next 45 minutes. I've been unable to get a PMPS as he's not bleeding at all, tried both ears and a paw and now he's in no mood to be messed with.

I have some cerenia from his last episode left over I could try tomorrow AM, however if it's pancreatitis then I'm reluctant to feed. I'll call the vet in the morning.

Is he dehydrated? He may be if you are having trouble getting him to bleed. Feel his gums and see if they are tacky or slippery. And does his scruff snap back when pulled up or go back slowly.
Why are you reluctant to feed if it’s pancreatitis? They need to eat if at all possible.

I'll check those signs this morning thanks for the advice.

As for feeding, the things I've read about Pancreatitis say it's treated by withholding food and feeding on IV while the pancreas repairs itself.

Below is a link to pancreatitis that marje and Gracie set up. You will see it no longer says to starve the cat.
If the cat is really ill he will need IV fluids At the vet, but often they can be managed at home with subQ fluids, antinausea meds, pain meds and possibly an appetite stimulant.
It’s important that the cat eats and is free of pain so the treatments I mentioned above are the current treatment for pancreatitis.

Thanks for the info :)

I managed to get him to eat this morning by shaving some parmasean into his food. I called the vet and she asked me to pick up some appetite stimulants today.
