missing insulin dose by a couple of hours... can I give partial dose

I will be away when my cat is scheduled for his evening dose of insulin tonight and likely will only be returning home between 2 and 3 hrs after he normally gets it. Unfortunately, no one is available to come and give him his dose on time. Is it ok to give it to him at that time (even a partial dose) or just wait until his next regular shot? Today his AMPS +6 was 13 (Can value; or 234 for US values). This is pretty normal for him. He gets 2.5 units of Prozinc twice daily. Thanks in advance for advice

I can tag a few members for you , Your last post was from 2019.
You really need to be getting more tests in other than just the AMPS and the PMPS BG's
Members won't know what's really going on with his numbers

I have many, many readings of my cat's BG levels...nearly 6yrs of them and not just AMPS OR PMPS. I know his condition very well. I have not posted in awhile as I haven't had to.

I am rarely away from home so today's question arises from that and the fact that the tech that comes on occasion to give him his insulin is not available.

I was just wondering if it would mess up his regular dosing schedule if I were to give him his insulin 2 to 3 hours later than normal. By then his BG will likely be in the high "teens" if he follows his normal pattern. His vet is aware and dully up to date with his condition.

Thanks for getting back to me. The event finished much earlier than expected and I was able to get home within an hour post his usual dosing time so gave him his regular dose (his BG was in the range I expected). He has no history of ketones. His BG levels have been slightly elevated for the last week due to medicated drops being used to treat an issue with his ears; the medication has a low level of corticosteroids which we know is not the best for diabetic cats. I will likely be increasing his insulin dose beginning tomorrow if his AMPS remains in the same range.

Thanks again for everyone's help on this... hopefully I have more advance notice on events such as today's so that I can make alternate arrangements.
