Hello.
I am new to this forum. My wife and I have two diabetic cats, one male and one female.
When we are out of town we have a fantastic pet sitter administer their shots. Of late the female has gotten to where she will no longer let anyone but my wife and I do her shots. Our sitter tries, but it is hit or miss. It hurts our sitter's feelings, but she understands how finicky cats can be at times.
The quandary is if it is okay for our female cat to miss her shots for a time? When we do go out of town it is usually just for two nights, no more than four nights at most. Having spoken with our veterinarian she said that a cat could miss their insulin shots for up to a week and still be okay. That makes sense given both our cats were diabetic for over a month before we found out they were diabetic. Other forums have stated this as well.
You all are the top forum by all reports, and the only such forum I have joined, and would like your thoughts and experiences if you would please share them. Thank you.
God Bless.
