My cat is being treated for hyperthyroidism. He is on methimzole 2x daily. His thyroid is now drug-induced underactive instead of overactive. When he had recent dental surgery and had to fast and not have his breakfast, the vet tech told me that becuase the medication created a cumulative effect, it was alright if he missed his morning dose. That said, is it ok if he misses one dose on other rare occassions when we travel, or should we stay the course and remain strict and not miss any doses at all, as we have don the last year and a half? We are traveling over the holidays and wanted to know. Thank you.
