I got waylaid this morning and completely forgot to give Buffy her AM dose! Two hours after eating (and her normal shot time), she's at 171 which is within her target range, so I gave her .25 instead of .50 and will test her in three hours to see where she's at. If she doesn't need her PM shot (which she hasn't for the past four days) should I reduce her AM shot tomorrow or keep it at .50?

I hope I didn't screw her up, she's been doing so well.

Is it possible to reduce the dose even more, so you can give both the am and the pm dose? My cat only needs 0,06 u am and pm and often only 0,04 u. If i skip am or pm the number start to get all bouncy.

I dont think i would give the pm shot, but instead wait until the am dose and then reduce. And i would reduce even if the numbers are a bit higher because of the lower am dose this morning. But i would reduce so that she can get both the am and pm dose.

Thank you. I think I'll have to wait and see how she's doing at her PMPS. My fingers are crossed that she'll be below 150 but based on the last three tests, her numbers are going up so I have a feeling they're going to continue that for the rest of the day. If I need to shoot at her PMPS, I'll just give her the other .25, that way she'll of had her full .50 for the day, just spread out.

I think you may be right. I've been having to keep an eye on her at +3 because she was dropping too much at +6. Spreading it out should help with that.
