Missed Lantus injection

I am new to administering my cat's Lantus insulin. I had an emergency this morning and was unable to give him his insulin until 3:20 p.m. - too late to give him his next shot. I have read elsewhere that I should forego the second injection to avoid him going hypoglycemic. He normally gets his first shot between 10 and 11 a.m. Will he be ok not getting his second 1 unit dose and going back to the normal schedule Sunday?

Hi and welcome. You don’t want to give another dose less than 11 1/2 hours from the first dose. You are right to skip the second shot.
