Has anyone else had issues with Mirataz making it harder to get a BG reading?
We started on Mirataz about a month ago when the cypro stopped working for Mochi. Since starting it his BG checks became progressively harder to get. Besides the blood seeming to be thinner/runnier (if that even makes any sense?), and not beading up as well, I keep getting error codes on my glucometer (usually error 4 - which is a general "something went wrong" code). I am having to use multiple test strips per poke and Mochi is starting to resist testing (pawing at his ear while I'm trying to hold it which makes it even harder to get a sample).
I tried stopping the Mirataz after two weeks like it said in the insert, and the BG testing went back to being easy to draw, but his appetite disappeared again so we started it back up several days ago and the blood draws are becoming an issues again. I've attempted giving it to him every other day, but he doesn't eat much on the off days. Using a smaller amount doesn't seem to make his blood draws any easier either, I've tried.
