? Miralax for constipation?

I think Squallie may be constipated. I have frequently seen references to Miralax here, I guess this is safe to give to kitties? Can someone please tell me the dosage? Squall weighs about 13.5 lbs. Is it safe to give with Cyproheptadine and Ondansetron? Will it hurt him if he's not constipated? I almost never see him in the LB, so I am not 100% sure that that is what's going on. Thanks in advance for help and advice!

Start with 1/8 tsp twice daily with food. It is dosed to effect so yo increase until problem is resolved.
I have and are using it on many of my cats

I gave it to Squeaker. I would only start with 1/8 tsp per day until you are sure that constipation is the issue. If you give a full 1/4 tsp you could precipitate diarrhea and dehydration. Here is a link you might find helpful: http://www.felinecrf.org/constipation.htm

Dre is 20#
he gets almost 1/2 tsp 1-2 x a day-
we started giving less but since he is big he needed more--I mix it in baby food and syringe it.
No issues with the onadestron and miralax for us.
He was regular but the dental clogged him up again so we are back to 2x a day until he is regular then 1x a day-ECID kind of thing

Erik gets 1/8 teaspoon twice a day for his chronic constipation. It is an osmotic laxative and works by holding water in the stool to soften it. It is tasteless, sugar free and doesn't cause bloating or gas. It's safe as long as you are sure there is no bowel obstruction.

Thank you all for the help and advice! Squallie saw the vet this morning and he is NOT constipated, but it's good to have the Miralax on hand and the links to more info on the issue!
