Mini Bingo Update!

So we saw the vet the and got all the records sent to my vet. The exam went well except he had ear mites pretty severely so we got that treated. The vet suggested we try the prescription wet food since his previous vet said he never liked the dry foods. I politely bought one can and said thanks (later that week I donated it with the almost full bag of the hairball control to the humane society) Bingo and transitioned very nicely to the fancy feast... He really likes the plain ol' chicken best though.

I have been rubbing up on his ears since the appointment making it nice, petting him on the ears while I feed him, and just loving him up really. I decided to have my husband helped me hold him since his last vet said he was crazy when they tried to do take his BS in the office and they were unable to do it. I was able to take his BS this morning before his dose of insulin and it was 255! I am quite pleased with that since the last time it was taken by a vet it was 385. Today was crazy so I wasn't able to do a curve but that is our plan tomorrow since we won't be leaving at all.

He is still on 5 units since I have not been able to get a BS until now so we will see how he does tomorrow and if it needs to be lowered. We are doing in office blood test on June 10th to see how his levels have been over time.

He has fit in so well and seems to like his new surroundings!

Here are two new pictures of him;

And to top it off my neighbor brought me a kitten that was found at his work so we are bottle feeding it. We are going to get him neutered and then adopt him out.

Welcome Brandy and Bingo.

I am glad you will be doing a curve today. The more info you can get on Bingo's BG levels the better.

Those number will help us help you, but if you have the time, you might want to read this article on rebound, a situation that some people may discuss.

That kitten is so precious, as is Bingo.

Kitten is adorable but Bingo.....OMG, he is gorgeous. So glad you've taken him in but with those numbers I would drop the dose even more. Hopefully the curve today will show that. He sure doesn't look his age either.

Dear Brandy, and, of course, you too, sweet and handsome Bingo! (I'm sorry, I just can't type his name without an exclamation point!),

My heart can't stop smiling! I don't know who or what I love the most. You, Bingo!'s extra toes, or that kitten. This is like some kind of mom, furry American Idol vote... Hmmmm...

I vote for YOU!!! Because without you, dearest Brandy, we wouldn't have seen photos of Bingo!'s extra toes or that kitten...

Please let us know how your curve goes. You might not need that June 10th fructosamine (guessing...) appointment...

Bless you and your wondrous heart, dearest Brandy... Truly. Bingo!'s such a lucky furry guy...

Much love and countless hugs for you and yours (okay, maybe not the python...),
Deb and Nikki -- and, Giz, forever dancing in my heart...

PS: It's been so long since having a tiny kitten, I forgot how blue their eyes are...
