? Mimi +2 is 38 - just fed MC- should I go for the HC?

Bouncy kitties are special, I know from experience . I've been caught off guard a few times too. Her drop from am to pm preshot was a good sign she was up to something tonight. I'm glad you kept a close eye starting with the +1. The only thing I might have done and maybe consider for next time, with a drop at +1 like you saw, I would have already fed some higher LC or MC, depoending in how carb sensitive you find Mimi to be.

If you are okay with a test around +4 that would be what I'd do. She's likely done with her early shenanigans but we want to see she's still stable or rising. Then you can get some sleep.

n how carb sensitive you find Mimi to be
how do I figure out if she's carb sensitive or not?

You learn by keeping track of what happens during the usual cycles and when you get lower numbers and you feed higher carb foods. That is why I suggested you keep track on your SS of what you did to intervene with lower numbers, so you can refer back. You'll find you can start to see how she reacts to carbs when you keep track of when you fed and what %carb, and seeing the effects on the next test. You gathered some good info tonight :). The first time I got close to low numbers, I gave Maverick 1/2 can of 20% food, and his numbers skyrocketed. Now I know 20% is too much for him. There are kitties here who are not carb sensitive at all, and giving 20% barely raises the numbers.

Oh ok. I’ll have to test it with actual HC- or maybe the corn syrup on the raw was just enough to not blow her up

Some people prefer the corn syrup, that's fine, whatever works. Seemed to be okay for Mimi tonight. I've never used it. We had a member a while back use those packaged mashed potato flakes, and I've seen mention of ice cream as a method. Again, never tried either of those. When I first joined, I liked what I read in the sticky on handling low numbers, so I just follow that.
