Something is wrong with Milo. He hasn't eaten in 24 hours. Has no interest in treats. Hasn't had water that I know of since around 7 last night. Hasn't used the litter box since the same time. He finally did poop. It wasn't much and it was constipated and black. He perked up after it. He was interested in eating after but didn't eat what choices I gave him. After that he went into hiding.

He let me give him the insulin this morning with no trouble and tried to eat the treat but spit it back out. He went into hiding right after. Wouldn't drink water that I brought to him even though he licked his lips.

I don't have any money to go to the vet. I can't even put gas in my car and it's almost empty. I'm sharing this here because I don't have anywhere else to go with it. I'm not asking for anything or expecting anything. My care credit is past due and won't be turned back on until I make a large payment in June when I get paid. I can then use it and not worry until July.

Two days ago I was gifted a half vial of ProVinc from the vet's office. The only other diabetic cat passed and the owner gave me the rest of her insulin. I had given Milo two doses from that vial.

The receptionist suggested taking a syringe (sans needle) with water and squirting it into his mouth to get some hydration into him. I'm going to try that now. I am officially overwhelmed and now breaking down.

Milo is 19lbs which is perfect for his height and stature, he's a big cat. ProVinc 1 unit u-40 syringe twice a day. Wet food only, 4 times a day.

Please contact Diabetic Cats In Need (DCIN). The member who is the contact person is @Chris & China . We need to know what insulin you’re using and what dose you’re giving. You’ve said you aren’t testing at home. If you can get human urine ketone test strips from a pharmacy start testing his urine for ketones ASAP. Get as much water into him as you can and feed him anything he’ll eat. The signs you describe seem to indicate nausea. He likely needs antinausea meds and an appetite stimulant. I wouldn’t wait more than another day before getting him to the vet. DCIN might be able to help with that cost.

Right after I posted this Milo came out of hiding and made a beeline to the wet food I put out earlier that his brother didn't finish. Oddly it was the next feeding time. I put down new wet food and he ate a bit. He has been laying in his usual spots since.

I spoke with his normal vet while this went on. He thinks that he had a hypoglycemic episode. He also reminded me to give him the insulin dose after feeding time 12 hours apart. I don't know where I got it in my head to give the dose two hours before feeding. Maybe I put him in the hypo state. So I gave him a little karo and he's coming around.

As far as testing at home, I will be doing this as soon as I get the kit that my friend is sending me. I'm waiting on it.
