Question for my non surgar cat, Luna.
Recently she’s been breaking out in sores around the back of her neck, top of her head between her ears and then on her eyes as well ...
Both cat are indoors and I’ve checked thoroughly for fleas on both of them and have found nothing!
I found that using benedryl helped reduce redness and her itching but the scabs look painful as heck.
They last a bout a week and then go away after treating with Benedeyl but then come back 3ish weeks later :/
From what I’ve looked up it looks like it could be Miliary dermatitis, has anyone experienced this ?
I plan to bring her to the vet but looking for recommendations on here first so I know what I should be asking for and so that my vet doesn’t give me an unnecessary prescription

does hydrocortisone require a prescription ? And does it have to be one that’s specifically for cats?

thank you in advance !

I can be hard to find actual fleas.
Did you carefully check for flea dirt by after combing with a flea comb wiping the flea comb with a damp white paper towel?Flea dirt is digested and excreted blood and would turn the damp paper red/pink.
Check you other cats too since not all cats are allergic to fleas.
Are you using flea prevention? Some do not work.

Sometimes the allergic reaction is seasonal. Has Luna experienced this before?
Any changes in food, including brand as well as variety no
Any changes in environment?
