Mika passed on today

I can't thank this website enough for giving Mika a lot more time to spend with us--without all the great information, she surely would not have been with us this long. That time I hold so dear in my heart.
I am sad beyond sad that Mika has passed on. I really don't know how to feel--where did she go? She was so loved and such a sweetheart--not deserving of this.

She ate normally last night at 5pm and got her insulin as normal. At 7:30 I noticed she had peed on the bed where she layed and was really lethargic. Her kidney's just gave out and there was no turning this around. This is our first pet we euthanized so I am in a state of shock right now.

I know we did the right thing but I miss her terribly. :cry:

I am so sorry for you! Sending lots of hugs and purrs your way! Mika will be missed, but she is running free now feeling no more pain wings_cat
 
I'm really sorry for your loss. I hope your memories of better times with Mika will be of some solace to you. I am glad it sounds like she was able to spend most of her final hours at home, with you. Take care and give yourself all the time you need to deal with this. It's definitely not a linear process, and you are going to feel numb for a while.
 
Tammy, reading all about Mika.....what a journey you both shared......you gave her your all, along with your heart. My deepest and most heartfelt sympathy on her passing. So thankful you were there with her and you knew it was her time to leave. My heart goes out to you.

I am so sorry for your loss, Tammy. My heart is breaking for you right now. I know the pain oh so well of losing aa beloved furrie. ((((Tammy)))) Fly free sweet sweet Mika.
 
I am so sad for you. Your message brought tears. We just love these little guys so much and it hurts so much when they don't feel well, and then we are devastated when they pass. My heart is with you.

So sad to read this.I'm very sorry for the loss of your baby Mika. Fly free little one, land softly in the arms of our Lord. HE will take care of you, till you meet again.

Thank you all for your kindness-it is really bringing me comfort right now. I just don't know what to do with myself right now...
You know it all turned so bad so fast and before we knew it we were making the painful decision to let her go. We were through so much with her cushings, diabetes and brain infection in the last year and a half. I guess I just thought she'd pull through again. Sigh...it's a lot for a kitty to take.

Things happen and sometimes there is nothing we humans can do, except give that last gift of love - helping them pass. You did all you could for her and she knows that.

She was well loved and will be sorely missed.
 
Hi Everyone -

This is Mika's dad. I have read this forum many times after Tammy was done. I would like to thank everyone on this forum that has helped Tammy, whether it was with information or emotionally through Mika's tough times. I know it meant a lot to her (and myself) getting all the helpful tips and well wishes. I am positive that the information Tammy recieved from this site helped Mika live longer. Thank you all again.

I am so very sorry that Mika had to leave you. Their time with us is never enough. May the happy memories comfort you in the days ahead.

Mika left this life the way she lived it... wrapped in your love. A greater gift we can not give.

I am so sorry for your loss.
 
Saying goodbye is never easy & never gets easier. I've said goodbye to two within 8 months (one to cancer and the other to kidney failure). All I can suggest is cry as much as you want, talk about Mika passing to whoever you want even if they think your nuts for caring so much about an animal (what do they know anyways?), and get as many hugs from your loved one's that you can get.

This is some of the worst pain a pet owner bears. I am so sorry for your loss. May your memories of times with Mika be with you always even though she has passed, she will still be with you in your heart.

I am so so sorry to hear about Mika. She was a beautiful girl and she knew you both loved her very much. She is not in pain anymore...she is looking at you from above and wanting you both to know she is ok. It will get better, I promise.
