I've been a lurker on this message board for about a month. The info on this website has been so helpful beyond words. My beloved cat Casey was diagnosed with diabetes & high blood sugar back in October, and even getting to a point where I could start treating him with insulin was a frustrating, heartbreaking challenge. He's my special li'l guy, and many tears have been shed over the last couple months in being overwhelmed with his care, his condition, the wondering, the worrying, and just wanting to give him the best, most pain-free, comfortable life, for as long as he possibly can live. I just don't want my Casey to die, thinking about it tears my heart in two :(

Welcome! We can help you to help Casey. Post all your questions and concerns on the main health forum where they'll get more attention. :)

(((Mike)))

Welcome to you and your dear boy, Casey. Diabetes treatment is definitely do-able. We'll do all we can to help you both - especially through these early days when the emotional roller coaster is often at its worst.

Welcome Mike and Casey. The great thing about diabetes? It is one of the most well understood health conditions in the world!

I lurked too, before I joined up. Then I got a bunch of help (including the posters in this greeting). It is important to test your kitteh's blood, and if it shows diabetes, then we can help with dosing and the rest. Please feel free to post in the main health forum.

We have helped many owners and their kittehs. Without the help here, Leo probably would have been gone. But he has now been on insulin for over 2 years! We can help you too.

Diabetes is not a death sentence. Most cats live long healthy lives with correct treatment. We are here to help.
